Compact and powerful zoom lens
Bringing you closer to the action, the EF-S 55-250mm f / 4-5,6 IS STM is the perfect complement to your EOS with a standard 18-55mm zoom lens and is great for sports, wildlife and tourist photography photography. It combines powerful TV magnification with great image quality and instinctive performance.
Optical image stabilizer
To help you shoot blurry, the EF-S 55-250mm f / 4-5.6 IS STM incorporates Canon image stabilization technology. It allows shutter speeds of up to 3.5 steps lower than normal while preventing blur caused by camera shake - ideally in low light or when shooting at high magnification. Panorama recognition automatically switches off the horizontal or vertical stabilization, which helps to convey a sense of speed when photographing moving subjects.
STM technology
The EF-S 55-250mm f / 4-5,6 IS STM uses STM technology for smooth, quiet continuous focus when recording video with EOS and fast, accurate AF when capturing images. STM focus is so quiet that it does not capture the camera's microphone and does not interfere with the recorded sound.

The EF-S 55-250mm f / 4-5,6 IS STM uses a UD element (ultra-low scattering ratio) and Super Spectra lens coatings to deliver crisp, sharp and high-contrast images throughout the zoom range. Made for great photography
The manual focus ring allows you to quickly and easily adjust precise focus settings at any time, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.85 m for small subjects. The non-rotating front element simplifies the use of filters.
