A natural wide-angle perspective
Offering natural perspective and a wider viewing angle, the EF 35mm f / 2 IS USM is a good alternative to the traditional 50mm standard lens when used with a full-frame DSLR camera. With EOS cameras with APS-C size sensors, it provides a viewing angle equivalent to a 56mm lens.
Stabilize the image in low light
Shoot without a tripod in low light at shutter speeds up to four steps below standard. Image Stabilization (IS) technology automatically detects when a photographer moves the camera (horizontally or vertically) to follow moving subjects, and disables stabilization in that direction.
Large maximum aperture f / 2
The large aperture of the f / 2 aperture allows photographers to shoot at a shallow depth of field. Observe a bright image in the viewfinder and use relatively high shutter speeds even in low light.
