Large constant maximum aperture of the diaphragm
Shoot without a tripod in low light thanks to the large maximum aperture of f / 2.8, which does not change throughout the zoom range. This large aperture also provides precise control of the depth of field.
Image stabilizer
The Canon Image Stabilizer (4 steps slower shutter speed) makes the EF 70-200mm f / 2.8 IS II USM perfect for low light shooting when a tripod is not possible. The Image Stabilizer allows up to four steps lower shutter speeds to be used without the risk of blurring the image.
Fluorite and UD optical elements
The lens has fluorite elements that reduce chromatic distortion. Five optical UD (ultra-low scattering) elements are used to provide high contrast and natural color reproduction throughout the zoom range.
Smooth defocusing of the background
The virtually circular aperture gives the out-of-focus areas an extra sense of softness and evenness. The sharp objects in the foreground stand out against the smoothly defocused background.
Ultrasonic focusing
The ultrasonic ring motor provides extremely fast autofocus - at the same time almost silent. The excellent engine torque retention ensures accurate and precise reaching of the focus point without going beyond it. In addition, manual focus is available at any time, allowing you to adjust the focus without having to cancel the auto focus mode.
