Extended-range macro photography
The EF 100mm F / 2.8 Macro USM is a mid-range telephoto lens with 1.0x magnification. With eight aperture elements, the background can be creatively defocused to focus on the subject. The lens has a focus limiter that limits the focus range to improve autofocus speed.
Ring-shaped USM autofocus motor with manual focus
The Canon's AFM auto-focus system uses ultrasonic vibration for fast, accurate and virtually silent operation. Manual focus at any time via a large ring that does not rotate during autofocus allows photographers to fine-tune the focus immediately.
