The Hohem iSteady MT2 is a compact 3-axis motorized stabilizer for capturing smooth video footage with smartphones, action cameras, compact cameras and compatible mirrorless cameras. The basic version offers a maximum payload of up to 1.2 kg, an empty weight of about 653 g, an iSteady 7.0 stabilization system and a Multi 4.0 quick-release system compatible with the Arca-Swiss standard. The stabilizer features an OLED display, Bluetooth 5.1 and a 2600 mAh battery that provides up to 17 hours of operation under suitable conditions. For mirrorless cameras, not only the weight of the body must be taken into account, but also that of the lens, as well as the overall dimensions of the combination. The manufacturer specifies approximate maximum dimensions of the camera under 100.5 mm in height, under 139 mm in width and under 176.2 mm in total length of the camera with the lens. For smartphones, compatibility with a width of 58 to 98 mm is provided. Before use, it is advisable to check the compatibility of the specific camera model and the possibility of controlling the shutter via cable or Bluetooth.
The Multi 4.0 system is based on Arca-Swiss and makes it easy to mount and change equipment. The included L-shaped plate allows for quick switching between horizontal and vertical shooting, which is especially practical when preparing materials for different platforms. The design offers attachment points for additional accessories, such as a microphone, external lighting or other compatible accessories. There is a standard 1/4"-20 thread at the base for mounting a tripod or other suitable support. This means that the stabilizer can be used both independently and as part of a larger shooting configuration.
Control is via physical buttons, a trigger, a control element and an OLED display that shows information about the operating mode, battery status and connection. The Hohem Joy app provides additional control and settings options for compatible devices.
The built-in battery is designed for long shooting sessions and is charged via USB-C. The manufacturer claims a runtime of up to 17 hours under ideal conditions and a properly balanced configuration, and a full charge takes approximately three hours at 5 V/2 A. Actual autonomy depends on the weight of the equipment, balance, motor movements and usage.
