The Panasonic AW-UE20WE 4k PTZ Camera is a professional PTZ camera designed for video productions, live streaming, conferences, educational environments, events and other applications where remote camera control is required. The model features a 1/2.8-inch MOS sensor with an effective resolution of 8.46 MP and a lens with 12x optical zoom.
The camera offers 4K video output via HDMI at up to 29.97 fps, as well as Full HD video at up to 59.94 fps via 3G-SDI and USB. The combination of optical zoom, wide range of motion and a variety of professional interfaces allows the AW-UE20WE to be integrated into both standalone configurations and more complex multi-camera systems.
4K image and 1/2.8" MOS sensor
The AW-UE20WE uses a 1/2.8-inch MOS sensor with an effective resolution of 8.46 MP and a horizontal resolution of 1400 TV lines. The camera supports UHD 4K video at up to 25/29.97 fps, as well as Full HD at up to 59.94 fps.
The maximum aperture of the lens is f/1.6–2.8, and the minimum illumination reaches 0.4 lx at a shutter speed of 1/30 s. This allows the camera to be used in less-lit scenes, without the need for constant additional lighting.
Auto and manual focus, automatic white balance, and the ability to vertically flip and mirror the image are available.
12x optical zoom
The built-in lens has a focal length of 3.9–46.8 mm and offers 12x optical zoom. This allows the camera to go from wide shots to close-ups without the loss of detail that is typical of digital zoom.
The viewing angle ranges from 71° to 6° horizontally, 43° to 3° vertically and 79° to 7° diagonally. Additionally, 4x digital zoom is available for situations where even tighter framing is required.
PTZ control with wide range of motion
The AW-UE20WE features a remote pan and tilt mechanism. The camera offers 340° of horizontal movement – from -170° to +170°, and 120° of vertical movement – from -30° to +90°.
The movement speed can be adjusted in the range of 0.1 to 100°/s. This allows both smooth and slow movements for television production, as well as fast movement between different positions for events and live streaming.
4K HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB and NDI
The camera offers a wide range of video interfaces for integration into professional systems. There is an HDMI output for 4K video, a 3G-SDI output for Full HD, a USB-B 2.0 for working with computer systems, and an RJ45 interface with NDI support.
The HDMI output supports UHD 4K up to 25/29.97 fps, while 1080p up to 59.94 fps, as well as 1080i and 720p modes, can be output via SDI and USB.
NDI connectivity allows the camera to be incorporated into IP-based video systems, making it easier to build multi-camera configurations and remote productions.
Remote management and professional integration
The AW-UE20WE can be controlled via LAN, RS-232 and RS-422, allowing integration with various controllers and remote control systems. Infrared remote control is also supported.
The presence of a tally indicator facilitates work in multi-camera configurations by showing when a camera is selected or used for the current program signal.
Compact design for professional installations
The camera is designed for permanent installation and features four M4 threads for mounting to a stand or ceiling structure. The dimensions are 16.51 × 17.62 × 17.61 cm, and the body weight is 1.9 kg.
The combination of 4K video, 12x optical zoom, PTZ control, NDI, SDI and PoE+ makes the AW-UE20WE a versatile solution for professional video installations where the camera needs to be remotely controlled and integrated directly into the existing infrastructure.
