Description
The RED V-RAPTOR XL [X] 8K VV Production Pack V-Lock is a fully integrated, high-end cinema system designed for professional productions that demand maximum performance, reliability and readiness for work from the first day of shooting. The kit includes the V-RAPTOR XL [X] camera with built-in V-Lock power module, DSMC3 RED Touch 7" LCD monitor with sunshade and RMI cable, two 2TB CFexpress Type B cards with reader, four REDVOLT XL-V batteries with dual charger, XLR audio adapter, as well as a full set of accessories, top handle, rod support systems and riser plate. This allows you to build a complete cinema rig without the need for additional key components.
At the heart of the camera is a 35.4 MP VistaVision CMOS sensor (40.96 x 21.6 mm), which provides exceptional detail, depth and over 17 stops of dynamic range. Thanks to the global shutter, the camera completely eliminates the rolling shutter effect and guarantees perfect motion reproduction, key for action scenes, VFX and virtual productions. RED Global Vision technology further expands the capabilities in extreme lighting conditions, preserving detail and color in highlights.
One of the most significant advantages of the XL version is the built-in electronic ND filter with a range of 2 to 7 stops and the ability to adjust in precise steps (1/3, 1/4 or 1 stop). This allows for quick and precise exposure control without the need for external filters – critical in dynamic shooting conditions.
The RED V-RAPTOR XL [X] supports up to 8K recording at 120 fps in REDCODE RAW, as well as up to 600 fps in 2K (with crop), providing exceptional flexibility for high-speed and slow motion shooting. The camera also offers ProRes recording at up to 4K at 120 fps, as well as a proxy workflow for easier post-production. Multiple formats are supported, including anamorphic modes (up to 2x), making it extremely flexible for cinema productions.
The camera uses an interchangeable PL mount (included), with an EF option also available, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of professional cinema lenses. Built-in Phase Detect autofocus with face detection adds advanced functionality rarely found in this class of camera.
The RED V-RAPTOR XL [X] is designed as a fully integrated system – featuring a built-in dual-voltage V-Lock power interface (14V/26V), multiple power outputs (12V and 24V), and extensive connectivity options. There are 3x 12G-SDI outputs, an additional EVF SDI, Genlock, Timecode, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C, and wireless connectivity. The camera supports IP streaming, remote control, and Camera-to-Cloud workflow via Frame.io or Amazon S3.
The integrated Phantom Track feature allows recording separate R3D files for different sub-frames when working with LED walls and virtual productions, while also enabling independent monitoring of different visual layers in real time. This optimizes the work between director, cinematographer and VFX team without compromising the creative process.
