The ADAM Audio A8H Left Active Studio Monitor is a professional, high-end A-Series active three-way studio monitor specifically designed for the left position in critical monitoring systems. It is optimized for use as the left element in stereo, LCR (Left-Center-Right) or multi-channel configurations such as Dolby Atmos and other surround environments where accuracy, balance and sound field width are paramount.
The monitor uses a three-way active architecture, where each frequency range has its own driver and amplification. Low frequencies are reproduced by an 8-inch composite woofer with a 1.5" voice coil, which provides deep, tight and well-controlled bass. The extension down to 31 Hz (-6 dB) allows for reliable evaluation of the sub-bass range without the mandatory need for a separate subwoofer in many professional applications.
The midrange is entrusted to a separate 3.5-inch composite driver with a 1.3" voice coil. This separate midrange is key to the clarity of vocals, dialogue, and key musical elements, minimizing intermodulation distortion and providing high articulation and stable localization in the stereo field.
High frequencies are reproduced by a 1-inch ribbon tweeter, characteristic of ADAM Audio, with an extended frequency range up to 45 kHz. This provides extremely fast transient response, detail and “air” in the high spectrum, which is especially important for mastering, spatial effects and critical listening.
The amplifier section is optimized by frequency band: a powerful Class-D amplifier with 200 W RMS for the low frequencies, a Class-AB amplifier with 55 W RMS for the midrange and a Class-AB amplifier with 15 W RMS for the highs. The total RMS power of 340 W provides serious dynamic reserve and a maximum sound pressure of up to 105 dB, suitable for professional control rooms.
The A8H Left features an advanced DSP section for acoustic adaptation, including HF shelf, HF notch/peak, low-mid notch/peak and LF shelf. Via Ethernet (RJ45) connection, the monitor can be integrated into a networked setup and control system, facilitating precise calibration in complex multi-channel configurations. Built-in surge and overheating protections ensure stable and reliable operation under continuous load.
With a balanced XLR input, unbalanced RCA input, solid MDF cabinet, and horizontal orientation, the ADAM Audio A8H Left is designed as a high-precision reference monitor for professionals who demand maximum control, depth, and detail in sound.
