The ADAM Audio D3V Active Studio Monitor is an active two-way studio monitor designed for compact work environments, mobile studios and desktop setups where space is limited but sound requirements remain high. The model is available as a stereo pair and is aimed at content creators, producers, musicians and video editors who need accurate and balanced near-field monitoring.
Each monitor features a 3.5-inch aluminum cone woofer with a 1-inch voice coil, combined with a 1.5-inch ribbon tweeter. This configuration allows for fast transient response and high clarity in the mid and high frequencies, while maintaining controlled and tight low-frequency reproduction. Additionally, the system uses two 3.5-inch passive radiators that support the low register and extend bass reproduction without the need for a larger cabinet.
The frequency response reaches 48 Hz – 22.6 kHz at -3 dB and extends to 45 Hz – 23.2 kHz at -6 dB, which is impressive for a monitor with such a compact form factor. This allows for a reliable assessment of the balance in the mix, especially in the midrange, where vocals, guitars and main musical elements are located.
The amplifier section is fully active and separate, with each monitor having a total power of up to 100 W RMS (120 W peak). The low-frequency range is driven by amplifiers with up to 70 W RMS, while the high-frequency range is driven by separate amplifiers with up to 30 W RMS. This ensures stable dynamics and sufficient headroom for nearfield monitoring, with a maximum sound pressure of up to 96 dB peak.
The D3V offers extensive room adaptation capabilities through built-in EQ adjustments. There are settings for low frequencies (LF tilt), low-mid and mid-range, as well as high frequencies (HF tilt), allowing fine-tuning to suit monitor positioning, desk or room acoustics. This is especially useful when working in less than ideal rooms.
Connectivity includes a balanced ¼" TRS input for analog signal, as well as a USB-C port for direct digital connection to a computer, making the D3V a convenient choice for minimalist setups without an external audio interface. The housing is made of ABS material, the monitors are designed for vertical positioning and feature a 3/8"-16 mounting thread for stands or accessories.
