The cinema lens The Laowa 8-15mm T2.9 FF Zoom Fisheye Cine Lens is a full-frame cine lens with a pronounced fish-eye perspective, designed for creative visual solutions in feature films, music videos, advertising and experimental productions. With a focal range of 8 to 15 mm and coverage for Full Frame sensors, this model offers an impressive diagonal angle of view of up to 180°, which creates dramatic distortion and a highly impactful perspective.
The maximum aperture of T2.9 allows for work in a variety of lighting conditions, while the minimum aperture of T22 provides flexibility in exposure control. The lens is fully mechanical, with no electronic communication and no optical stabilization, making it a reliable tool in a professional cinema environment.
The optical construction includes 13 elements in 9 groups, ensuring good sharpness and control over aberrations despite extreme perspective. The minimum focusing distance of 16 cm allows close-up shots with emphasized depth and dynamics. The magnification of up to 0.23x and the ratio of 1:4.3 complement the creative possibilities.
The lens features standard 0.8 MOD gear rings for focus, iris and zoom, compatible with professional follow focus systems. The focus travel is 70°, the iris 42° and the zoom 70°, providing smooth and controlled manual control.
With a maximum diameter of 84.8 mm, a length of 62.5 mm and a weight of 590 g, the Laowa 8-15mm remains compact and balanced for use on a rig, gimbal or drone. The included ARRI PL mount is interchangeable, expanding the possibilities for integration into various cinema configurations.
