Description
The compact and extremely rugged Pentax WG-8 is built for adventure and tough conditions. It is waterproof to 20 meters, can withstand drops from 2.1 meters, and can operate in temperatures as low as -10 °C. With a durable body and reliable dust and shock protection, the WG-8 is an excellent choice for underwater photography, mountaineering, and any extreme situation where a regular camera would fail.
The WG-8 uses a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with approximately 20 megapixels, which offers clear images with low noise. The lens has a 5x optical zoom and covers focal lengths from 28 to 140 mm (Full Frame equivalent). This makes it versatile and suitable for both wide landscapes and close-up shots. In macro mode, it can shoot from a distance of just 1 cm, for which purpose a special Ring Light with six LEDs around the lens has been added.
The camera records 4K high-definition video and offers a Full HD mode for standard projects. Built-in GPS and compass allow for geotagging of photos and orientation on terrain. The screen is 3-inch with high resolution and anti-reflective coating, making it easy to work in bright sunlight.
The battery provides approximately 340 shots on a single charge. In addition to being waterproof to 20 meters, the camera can withstand pressure of up to 100 kg and is freezeproof to -10 °C. This makes it a reliable companion even in the most extreme situations.
