The foundation of the system is built around two speakers: a 3-inch woofer and a ¾-inch dome tweeter, housed in a carefully designed enclosure to minimize standing waves and sound coloration. The amplifier section uses a bi-amp configuration with Class D amplifiers, providing a total RMS power of 50 W.
The system covers a frequency range of 55 Hz to 20 kHz, making it suitable for monitoring a wide range of audio content from music and podcasts to video post-production. The DSP processor precisely manages the frequency response and provides adaptive capabilities through built-in LF and HF controls, as well as a "Desktop" correction designed to compensate for the increased bass when placed directly on a flat surface.
Several input options are available: RCA, 3.5 mm TRS (stereo minijack) and Bluetooth with aptX support, which allows for high-quality wireless playback, which is a useful option for mobile productions. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, the iLoud Micro Monitor can also be used as a high-quality multimedia system.
The housing is made of ABS plastic with a precise acoustic design that minimizes resonances. The shape allows for both horizontal and vertical positioning, and the built-in tilt (up to 15°) makes it easy to aim at the listener's ears. The monitors also have the option of stand mounting via a standard ⅜" threaded hole.
