Description
The Canon EOS C80 digital cinema camera features a full-frame sensor, shoots up to 6K video at 30 frames per second, has triple base ISO (800, 3200 and 12800), Dual-Pixel CMOS AF II, built-in ND filters and advanced professional video recording capabilities. It combines the full-frame sensor and some of the capabilities of the EOS C400 with a more compact and lightweight body similar to that of the EOS C70.
The RF mount allows the use of the wide range of quality RF lenses developed for the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera system.

Full-frame BSI Stacked CMOS sensor
The Canon EOS C80 cinema camera inherits the Canon EOS C400's full-frame back-illuminated multi-layer sensor, which provides 6K video recording (and enhanced 4K recording with 6K oversampling) with low noise.
Multiple recording formats
The EOS C80 provides a wide choice of recording formats such as:
- 6K Canon Cinema RAW Light LT 12-bit at 30 frames per second
- Super35 RAW ST 30p / RAW LT 60p
- 4K 120p / 2K 180p in XF-HEVC S, XF-AVC S and XF-AVC
- Slow / fast motion up to UHD 4K 120p in HEVC and AVC, etc.
New PL-RF adapter
As well as being compatible with RF lenses, the Canon EOS C80 is compatible with a new optional adapter for mounting ARRI PL mount cinema lenses on RF mount cameras. This greatly expands the creative possibilities when using this digital cinema camera, and the new adapter supports Cooke/i metadata.
12G-SDI BNC and HDMI output
The Canon EOS C80 cinema camera simultaneously outputs a full-size HDMI and 12G-SDI BNC output. A UVC USB-C output is also available for outputting video to a smartphone and other devices. The camera supports timecode input and output.
Dual-Pixel CMOS AF + EOS iTR AF X
For autofocus, the Canon EOS C80 relies on DPAF technology that uses almost 100% of the CMOS sensor, and in addition features the EOS iTR AF X autofocus function with a deep learning algorithm to recognize human figures and their movements.
Built-in ND filters
Despite being a relatively compact cinema camera, the Canon EOS C80 features a motorized hardware unit with neutral filters up to 10 ND steps. A special button on the housing allows quick and easy selection between 1/4, 1/16, 1/64, 1/125 and 1/1024.
