Description
The new Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 Macro G OSS II lens is the 50th anniversary model for Sony's E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The model is a classic televario with constant brightness and 0.5x magnification throughout the zoom range, which goes up to 1:1 with a Sony FE 2x teleconverter. This makes the lens a suitable choice not only for wildlife photography, sports and other events, but also for macro photography.
This version of the lens is smaller and lighter than the previous one, while offering improved imaging, stabilization, faster autofocus and more controls.
The body of the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 Macro G OSS II is protected against dust and moisture and is equipped with three programmable Focus Hold buttons, zoom lock, focus range limiter, Full Time DMF switch and three mode selector optical image stabilization.
Four XD-type linear autofocus motors (two for each focus group) provide fast, quiet and precise focusing (about 20% faster than the previous version of the model), suitable for video shooting as well. The lens supports tracking focus while changing the focal length, as well as when shooting at up to 30 fps with the Sony A1.
