The X-Rite i1Studio Spectrophotometer is a combined instrument targeted at professional photographers and graphic designers, as well as anyone who works in a closed cycle - from digital to digital or electronic. With this one-size-fits-all instrument, you can calibrate your desktop monitor / laptop and printer to process and print the right colors.
i1Studio is a replacement for ColorMunki Photo and uses the same hardware, but unlike ColorMunki's difficult-to-use and stripped-down software, the new instrument comes with a standalone version (iStudio) based on the software standard in the color calibration and profiling world - i1Profiler.
With it, you can perform three different types of calibration operations, which typically require separate devices:
- calibration of LCD monitors and projectors
- color profiling of RGB / CMYK printers
- Scan of spot colors in RGB, CMYK and CIELAB format
If you print images on different types of paper, i1Studio allows you to generate color profiles for each of them with only 2 pages with a total of 100 color elements. You can optimize the results to reproduce specific colors, skin tones, black and white, etc.
If you like a particular color and want to use it, or need to work with a client without knowing the values of the colors they choose, you can use i1Studio to scan the color and extract its value in LAB format. The device can scan spot colors from virtually any opaque surface.
