Description
The Panasonic AG-UX180 is a 4K professional camcorder featuring a 1 ”(effective size) MOS high-sensitivity sensor and a 20x zoom Leica Dicomar lens with a range of 24mm at the wide end up to 480mm. The camcorder offers many assisted focusing functions, various 4K and HD recording formats, as well as the ability to fine-tune image settings.
The Panasonic AG-UX180 features 5-axis hybrid image stabilization that provides the necessary correction to achieve smooth motion, and the lens design allows manual focus, aperture and zoom control. The shutter system operates in three modes - System, Slow and Syncro Scan, which offer shutter speeds of 1/60 to 1/8000 sec. Four-step built-in ND filters (1/4, 1/16, 1/64) and ISO variable allow for greater control of brightness and shutter speed.
Various recording formats
The variety of recording modes with selectable image quality, frame rate adjustment and bit rate make it possible to use the AG-UX180 from cinema productions to online distribution. Images can be recorded at 4K (4096 x 2160 / 24p, UHD (3840 x 2160) / 60p or Full HD (1980 x 1080) / 60p resolution. Universal and easy-to-play MOV, MP4 and AVCHD formats are supported.
IR (infrared) dark shooting
The IR Cut Filter can be turned on or off. When the filter is off, IR lights (sold separately) can be used to shoot in dark places.
Variable frame rate per second
Variable Frame Rates (2 fps to 60 fps)
Variable frame rate recording can be set in 10 steps from 2 fps to 60 fps (60Hz) / 9 steps from 2 fps to 50 fps (50Hz).
Slow Motion
Super Slow Motion (120 fps / 100 fps)
The Slow Motion effect can be achieved by high-speed HD recording at 120 fps (59.94 Hz) or 100 fps (50 Hz).
Two SD card slots
The Panasonic AG-UX180 comes with two SD card slots, enabling options such as unlimited recording, simultaneous recording, background recording and Ultra HD / Full HD Dual Codec recording. Dual Codec recording allows simultaneous recording of UHD 30p and FHD or FHD and FHD low bit rates, which essentially creates a master and offline / proxy version of the recording. An efficient workflow can be achieved by using Sub Rec File for tasks such as previews, offline editing and data transfer over the Internet.
Precise image adjustments
The Panasonic AG-UX180 offers a number of automatic features to help you get the best possible color image, including a variety of correction options. Some of the assisted focus features include high-speed 4K autofocus, one-touch autofocus, manual focus assist, auto white balance, and more. The camcorder also comes with presets in several modes, allowing you to record six presets of your own.

8-Mode Gamma
The AG-UX180 is equipped with eight selectable modes, including two Cine-Like Gammas, using technologies developed for VariCam.
Panasonic AG-UX180 comes with 3G-SDI output for connection to an external 1080 / 60p recorder, TC preset in / out timing terminal / synchronized multi-camera recording, two channels with XLR audio input for professional high quality audio recording and HDMI output for 4K monitoring while shooting.
