Description
Laowa 105mm f / 2 STF is a dual aperture lens with an APD element for maximum precise control over exposure and depth of focus, and for smooth, natural defocus.
The optical APD element functions as a special neutral filter with a radial gradient, which gradually limits the transmission of light to its periphery to T3.2, maintaining the depth of focus of a lens with a maximum aperture of f / 2.
The optical circuit of Laowa 105mm f / 2 STF includes three more elements with low dispersion and one with a high refractive index to control chromatic aberrations and maximum sharpness and clarity of images.
The two apertures with 8 and 14 elements are controlled with separate rings for exposure and the influence of the APD element, respectively.
