Description
The OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II mirrorless camera is the second version of the brand's first model, which succeeded the legendary Olympus in the world of photography. The OM-1 Mark II inherits all the advantages and functions of its predecessor, adding to them mainly a Live GND function (for the first time) and an improved AI technology for the recognition and tracking of subjects of the autofocus system.
The OM-1 Mark II inherits from its predecessor the rugged moisture and dustproof housing (IP53), the electronic viewfinder with 5.76 million dots, the 20-megapixel sensor, 4K60p video with RAW output via HDMI, High Res handheld shooting modes (50MP) and from a tripod (80MP), fast continuous shooting with up to 120 frames per second (50 with AF/AE) is electronic shutter, Live ND and more.
Among the innovations are:
- Live GND with three filters - 2, 4 and 8 (1, 2 and 3 steps), three transition options and the possibility to adjust the position and angle
- 20% better compensation from the stabilization system (up to 8.5 stops), which also works in conjunction with the stabilization of compatible lenses
- Improved autofocus with AI subject recognition
- Improved buffer to record up to 99 Pro Capture frames before pressing the shutter
- Vertical video for social networks and more.
Improved AI Detection AF
The OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II camera relies on a 1053-point Cross Quad Pixel AI AF system with phase detection, improving the recognition of various objects - from people, through birds and animals, to cars, airplanes, etc. In this way, the autofocus system of the camera provides faster, more accurate and more reliable recognition and tracking of the movement of objects.
Live GND
From the OM SYSTEM OM-1, the Live ND function is already known, which simulates the use of neutral filters with a reduction in the amount of light - in the OM-1 II version already up to 7 steps (ND128) - with the result visible in the viewfinder and on the display before shooting on the frame. The OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II now also offers a Live GND function (Graduated Neutral Density), which similarly simulates the use of gradient neutral filters with three levels of transmittance and three gradient transitions - Soft, Medium and Hard. Live GND also allows adjusting the position and angle of the gradient filter.
