IN the book on Claudius Sluban East to East has collected photographs from his numerous travels on the Trans-Siberian Railway route between Russia, Mongolia and China. His characteristic black and white photographs in deep black bring a sense of melancholy and alienation.

The book East to East won the 2009 Leica European Publishers Award.

About the author:

Claudius Sluban is French photographer of Slovenian descent, born in Paris in 1963. He is known for his long-term work in youth prisons. He is the author of several photo books, including a monograph from the famous Photo Poche series , which presents leading world photographers . Carrier is on medal for high achievements the Leica in 2004 and the award Prix Ni é pce in 2000.
